Help To Buy, It’s Easier Than You Think

Unlike our neighbours on the continent, Britain is a country of homeowners. We’ve always seen the value and the investment in bricks and mortar. But with the cost of living going up, home ownership seems to be moving out of reach for so many. That’s where the Help to Buy scheme comes in.

Help to Buy is a Government-led scheme to help people like you move into a beautiful Berkeley DeVeer home. The scheme enables you to buy your dream home with just a 5% deposit. There are plenty of misconceptions surrounding the Help to Buy initiative, but it’s actually easier than you think. And here’s why.

It’s simple
The Help to Buy Equity Loan is exclusive to new build homes, and the government will lend you up to 20% of the property price with you paying just a 5% deposit, and the remaining 75% of the cost taken out as a mortgage. Better still, you won’t have to repay anything on the government loan for five years.

It’s not just for first time buyers
The Help to Buy Scheme is available to all as long as you don’t own any other properties, you live in the UK and you can obtain a standard mortgage and provide the 5% deposit for a new build home up to the value of £600,000.

It’s got so many benefits
The first benefit of the scheme is that it can help first-time buyers get onto the housing ladder a lot sooner than they may otherwise have been able to with a smaller deposit. It also helps people that have sold their property take the next step to a larger home again making it more affordable. You’ll also own 100% of your new home unlike some shared equity schemes.

It’s financially efficient
Your new Newett Home energy efficient home built to the latest building standards and our high specification will provide massive savings on your monthly bills and outgoings. If you’d like to know more about the Help to Buy scheme or you’d like to speak to our sales team who can help you find the right deal for your new Newett Home dream home, give us a call on 01937 543 599.

Five Essential Tips For Working From Home

With thousands of people in the UK currently working from home, you may be struggling to keep focused as the novelty of working remotely wears off.

So we have put together a list of tips to help keep your energy up and maintain your productivity when working from home.

#1 Get dressed for the day

For many people, the prospect of staying in their pyjamas all day is the best thing about working from home. However, getting washed and dressed will not only improve your state of mind, but it will also psychologically prepare you to start work and put you in good stead for the rest of the day.

#2 Create a work space

It may be tempting to stay in bed or just head to the sofa, but people who successfully work from home agree that you’re best off setting up a workstation – if you don’t have a desk, use your dining table. Besides making you feel like you’re at an “office,” it will help you maintain good posture and avoid distractions.

number of our properties have spaces that are perfect for use as a study and can help create the same work environment that you are used to.

#3 Create a clear work schedule

To stay on schedule, segment what you’ll do and when over the course of the day. If you have an online calendar, create personal events and reminders that tell you when to shift gears and start on new tasks. If you have a Gmail account, use the free Google Calendar to help stay organised.

#4 Keep in constant communication with your colleagues

If you’re working from home, you’ll most likely be alone, so you won’t be getting distracted by colleagues’ conversations or any other office noise – so that’s an instant benefit. But spending each day with no conversation can be isolating and affect productivity.

So to keep a good workflow with workmates, many people have been using Zoom and Messenger video for meetings. 30 minutes to an hour each day is an ideal length of time to discuss what people are working on, it also helps you plan out your tasks better.

Make sure you use your face-to-face time effectively though, as there isn’t much point in having a meeting about something that could have been solved easily via email.

#5 Take regular breaks

Working hard and sticking to a schedule is great, but make sure your work doesn’t become monotonous. It’s good to get away from the screen once in a while, and it’s been proven to have significant benefits.

With the above, you’ll be in a better position to work from home. However, if you have any other tips and tricks for working remotely, then be sure to share them with us on our social media channels!
