First Homes

Your key to Home Ownership

First Homes is a Government backed scheme exclusively available to first time buyers, allowing you to buy your first home for 30% less than the market value.

You're eligible if you

  • are 18 years or older
  • are a first time buyer 
  • are able to get a mortgage for at least half the price of the home
  • do not earn more than £80,000 a year (joint household income)

Councils may set local eligibility criteria. For example, some councils may prioritise giving First Homes discounts to:

  • key workers, as defined by the council
  • people who already live in the area
  • those on lower incomes
